Hey everyone, Negative SEO here from NegativeSEO.com SEO Consulting. Today we’ve got some important SEO news.

Just days ago Google announced a new update they are rolling out in July called the “Speed Update.”

A Google representative said, and I quote, “’The “Speed Update,’ as we’re calling it, will only affect pages that deliver the slowest experience to users and will only affect a small percentage of queries. It applies the same standard to all pages, regardless of the technology used to build the page. The intent of the search query is still a very strong signal, so a slow web page may still rank highly if it has great, relevant content.”

So what does that mean? It means do not go beat up your search engine optimization provider just yet. While speed will play an important roll in your online success, the major factor that will differentiate whether you rank well versus your competitor is still “great relevant content.”

So, how do you know if your website is too slow? Google’s got a nifty free tool called “Test My Site.” You can access it by going to TestMySite.ThinkWithGoogle.com. This tool will provide helpful recommendations and insights to what you can do to speed up that old, outdated clunky site of yours.
